Bible time - Time with God

Verses about prioritising time with God for practical application in prayer.

We know that spending time with God is important, but in the midst of our busy lives, it can be challenging to make it a priority. Between work, family, and other responsibilities, finding time to be still and connect with God can seem like an impossible task. However, it’s crucial for our spiritual growth and overall well-being. If you’re struggling to find the time, these 10 Bible verses can help you prioritize time with God.

“Be still, and know that I am God” - Psalm 46:10. This verse reminds us to be still in God’s presence and acknowledge His sovereignty. Prioritize time each day to be still and quiet with God, even if only for a few minutes.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” - Psalm 37:4. We often prioritize our own desires and wants above God’s, but this verse reminds us that when we focus on delighting in Him, He will provide us with what we truly need and desire.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” - James 4:8. It’s easy to feel distant from God when we’re not intentionally seeking Him. Prioritize daily time in prayer and reading the Bible to draw near to Him, and He promises to draw near to us.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” - Matthew 6:33. This verse reminds us to prioritize God’s kingdom above our own desires and needs. When we seek His righteousness first, everything else falls into place.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” - 2 Timothy 2:15. The Bible is God’s word to us, and we can’t rightly divide it if we’re not spending time in it. Prioritize daily Bible reading and study to grow closer to God and understand His truth.

Prioritizing time with God isn’t always easy, but it’s essential to our spiritual growth and overall well-being. These 10 Bible verses serve as reminders to be still, delight in God, draw near to Him, seek His kingdom, and prioritize time in prayer and Bible study. By intentionally making time for God each day, we can deepen our relationship with Him and experience His presence and blessings in our lives.
