    Bible verses about idols.

In the Bible, idolatry refers to the worship of idols or false gods, which is strongly condemned. God emphasizes the importance of worshiping Him alone and warns against the dangers of idolatry. Here are five Bible verses that address this topic:

    Exodus 20:3-5:

“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.”

    Leviticus 19:4:

“Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.”

    1 Corinthians 10:14:

“Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.”

    1 John 5:21:

“Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”

    Colossians 3:5:

“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”

These verses highlight God’s command to avoid idolatry and emphasize His desire for exclusive devotion from His people. Idolatry is seen as a serious offense because it diverts worship and loyalty away from God, leading to spiritual and moral consequences.
