Letting Go

Bible verses about letting go.

As humans, we all go through experiences that can hurt us deeply. Whether it is a betrayal from a friend or loved one, the loss of a job or a loved one, or a personal disappointment. Oftentimes, we hold onto these hurts, and they end up causing us more pain than necessary. We are called to release these hurts to God and trust in Him to bring us through. In this blog post, we will look at 10 Bible verses about letting go of hurts.

Philippians 3:13-14 – “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” In this verse, Paul talks about forgetting what is behind him and moving forward. He encourages us not to get weighed down by past hurts but to focus on the prize ahead.

Psalm 55:22 – “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” When we let go of our hurts, we can cast our cares on the Lord and trust in Him to sustain us and keep us steadfast.

Matthew 6:15 – “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Forgiveness is a crucial part of letting go of hurts. We must forgive those who hurt us so that we can move on and heal.

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” When we put our hope in the Lord, He will give us strength to overcome our hurts.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” When we trust in the Lord, He will guide us and make our paths straight, even in the face of hurts and challenges.

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even in the midst of hurt and pain, we can trust that God is working for our good.

Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. He is close to us, and He saves us.

Luke 6:27-28 – “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Jesus calls us to love even our enemies. Loving those who hurt us can help us to let go of hurts and move on.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” When we are weak, God is strong. He will give us the strength to overcome our hurts and difficulties.

Colossians 3:13 – “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Forgiveness is key to letting go of hurts. We must forgive others as Christ forgave us.

Letting go of our hurts can be a difficult process, but it is essential for our emotional and spiritual well-being. We are called to release these hurts to God and trust in Him to bring us through. Through forgiveness, prayer, and trusting in God’s plan, we can move forward and find healing. These Bible verses about letting go of hurts are a powerful reminder of God’s love for us and His desire to heal us.
