    Bible verses about mental abuse.

The Bible addresses the issue of mental and emotional abuse by emphasizing the importance of love, kindness, and respect in our interactions with others. It condemns behaviours that harm others emotionally or mentally and encourages believers to support and uplift one another.

    Bible Verses Against Mental Abuse

    1. Proverbs 12:18 - “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

This verse highlights the power of words to either harm or heal, urging us to speak wisely and kindly.

    2. Ephesians 4:29 - “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Paul advises believers to use their words to build others up, not tear them down.

    3. Colossians 3:8 - “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”

This verse calls for the rejection of harmful behaviours and speech that can cause emotional damage.

    4. Psalm 34:17-18 - “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

These verses offer comfort to those who are suffering, assuring them that God is near and attentive to their pain.

    5. Proverbs 15:1 - “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

This verse encourages gentle and kind communication, which can prevent and heal emotional wounds.
