Bible verses about the nature of God.
The Bible describes the nature of God through various attributes and characteristics. Here are some key aspects of God’s nature along with corresponding Bible verses:
Sovereign: God is in control of everything.
Isaiah 46:9-10: “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”
Merciful and Gracious: God shows compassion and kindness.
Psalm 103:8: “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
Patient: God is slow to anger and patient with us.
2 Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Loving: God’s love is unconditional and everlasting.
1 John 4:8: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
Faithful: God is reliable and keeps His promises.
Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
Forgiving: God forgives those who repent.
1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Just: God is fair and righteous in His judgments.
Psalm 89:14: “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.”
These verses highlight the multifaceted nature of God as depicted in the Bible.
