    Bible verses about pleasure.

The Bible addresses the concept of pleasure in various contexts, often highlighting the distinction between godly pleasure and worldly indulgence. Here are some key verses and insights:

    Godly Pleasure:

    • Psalm 16:11: “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

    • Psalm 37:4: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

    • Ecclesiastes 2:24: “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God.”

    Warnings Against Worldly Pleasure:

    • Proverbs 21:17: “Whoever loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.”

    • 1 Timothy 5:6: “But she who is self-indulgent is dead even while she lives.”

    • 2 Timothy 3:4: “Treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”

    Balance and Moderation:

    • 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

    • Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

The biblical stance on pleasure emphasizes finding joy and satisfaction in God and His blessings, while cautioning against excessive indulgence in worldly pleasures that can lead one away from a righteous path.
