Proverbs 31:27-28– “She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”

This verse tells us that a mother’s role is to be vigilant and take care of her family’s needs. She shouldn’t be idle but should work hard and be industrious.


Psalm 127:3-5– “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”

This verse highlights the joy that comes with having children. As mothers, it is our role to nurture and raise them in the ways of the Lord.


Titus 2:3-5– “Older women likewise are to be reverent in behaviour, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”

In this verse, we are reminded of the vital role of an older woman to teach and guide younger women in their journey through motherhood. By following these instructions, we help our families, children, and husbands grow in love and respect.


Proverbs 31:26 – “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Our words have the power to shape and mould our children’s lives. Therefore, as mothers, it is our role to speak words of kindness, encouragement, and wisdom into our children's lives.


Deuteronomy 6:6-7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

We must instil the word of God in our children's hearts and minds. As mothers, it is our role to teach them about the love and goodness of the Lord and to guide them in righteousness.


Psalm 103:13 – “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”

This verse reminds us that the Lord shows us compassion as a father does to his children. Mothers should show their children love, kindness, and compassion in the same way that God extends it to everyone.


Proverbs 31:20– “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”

This verse teaches us the importance of showing compassion and kindness to others, especially those in need. As mothers, it is vital to teach our children about making meaningful impacts in their communities.


Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

As mothers, our work is never-ending, but we must do it with a heart devoted to the Lord. We need to put our efforts to raising children who are godly and respectful in word and deed.


1 Corinthians 13:4-7 - “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

This verse personifies the unconditional love that a mother should have for her children. As mothers, we should aspire to embody these qualities so that our children can learn by our example.


Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

This verse encourages mothers to raise their children in a godly manner so that they will grow up to be faithful to their faith and beliefs. It is the role of the mother to nurture a child's heart toward the Lord's ways so that they discover His goodness and power.
