    The Easter Story

    The biblical Easter story is central to Christian faith, commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  


    1. The Last Supper 

    Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples, known as the Last Supper, where He instituted the practice of communion.

    2. Judas’ Betrayal 

    Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus’ disciples, betrayed Him to the religious leaders for thirty pieces of silver.

    • Mark 14:43-50 


    3. The Crucifixion 

    Jesus was arrested, tried, and crucified. He was mocked, beaten, and nailed to a cross, where He died.

    • John 19:16-37 


    4. The Resurrection 

    On the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus rose from the dead, appearing first to Mary Magdalene and then to His disciples.

    • John 20:1-29 


    Key Verses 

    • Matthew 28:6: “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” 

    • 1 Peter 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 


    These events and verses encapsulate the essence of Easter, celebrating Jesus’ victory over death and the promise of eternal life for believers.
